"Largest gold heist in Canada's history": How was it pulled off?

View descriptionShare

A group of people meticulously planned a Hollywood movie-like gold heist last April at Toronto's airport, and after a year-long search by Canadian police, nine people have been charged.

Investigators found stolen goods of more than 6,000 gold bars and millions of dollars in foreign cash.

Authorities are calling this the largest gold heist in Canada's history.. but it's also apart of the growing list of thefts from airports in recent years.

For a closer look, KCBS Radio news anchors Bret Burkhart and Patti Reising spoke with Vipal Monga, reporter for the Wall Street Journal. He wrote a great piece about this in today's paper.
