As discussions around the contents of the final COP28 treaty continue, one agreement that has been reached was about energy efficiency.
According to the International Energy Agency, doubling the pace of energy efficiency progress could account for 50% of the emissions reductions needed by 2030 to keep us on track to cap warming at 1.5 degrees Celsius. Yet energy efficiency is often overlooked as a major climate solution.
