As Canadian wildfires rage, expert explains what causes hazy, orange skies

Orange, hazy skies are taking over the East Coast due to the wildfires burning in Canada, and for us in the Bay Area, that visual is all too familiar. As these unusual weather patterns get more intense, more people are becoming aware of climate change.

For the latest on this developing situation, KCBS Radio news anchors Pat Thurston and Bret Burkhart spoke with Malcolm North, forest ecologist with the USDA Forest Service’s Pacific Southwest Research Station and an adjunct professor at UC Davis.
