Enforcement shortage has lead to higher drunk-driving fatalities

Recent federal data shows drunk-driving deaths in the U-S are accelerating at a pace not seen in nearly two decades, while arrests for driving under the influence hit the brakes. 

This comes as police departments across the nation grapple with limited staff and growing concern around traffic stops. 

For more, KCBS Radio's Bret Burkhart and Patti Reising spoke with Jim Fell, Principal Research Scientist at NORC at the University of Chicago. He's been studying impaired driving since 1967.
