If you're a frequent user of public transit in the Bay Area, perhaps you've wished for an all-in-one card that would let you transfer from light rail to buses to ferries and back - for free.
Though it sounds like a pipe dream, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission is piloting just that: an all-encompassing pass that gives riders access unlimited free rides to most of the region's 27 transit agencies.
