Smithville MO native Mandy Horvath is a real life badass.
Why? Because after losing both legs above the knee at age 21 after being hit by a train, she turned what was the negative in her life and turned it into a positive…by climbing the Manitu Incline, Pike’s Peak,  Cerro Tusa in Columbia and Mount Kilimajaro!!
And now, she’s returning home to the KC area to receive the Amelia Earhart Pioneering Achievement Award next month at the Amelia Earhart Festival in Atchison KS!!
