One of the most respected journalists covering pop culture during the ’60s  thru the ‘00s, Carl was the music editor for People Magazine and had stints at the NY Post and Detroit Free Press.  He spent decades talking to the most major influential talents of the era including Madonna, Michael Jackson, Bob Seger, David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Carrie Fisher, Ozzy Osbourne, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Patti Smith, Nora Ephron and scores of others – often at crucial moments in the course of their iconic careers. His interview with Tina Turner was featured in the recent award-winning HBO documentary “TINA!” 

This unique collection of original audio tapes, the CARL ARRINGTON ARCHIVE, eloquently captures the voices of artists in their own words, revealing their most intimate thoughts and dreams as they sat down for lengthy conversations with Arrington, who had a  gift for creating a safe haven for them to share what was going on in their hearts and minds.

Episode 8 of INSPIRATION/INFORMATION finds Host Imran Mirza of BlueInGreen Radio in conversation with London-based guitarist, composer, producer and band leader GREG SANDERS.  Having helmed two full-length releases from his new quartet, Lophae (“lo-fi”), as well as having produced Holly Holden’s ‘al andar’ album, 2025 proved to be an exceptionally busy and successful year for Greg.  Having established his phenomenal credentials via expansive jazz ensemble Teotima and their two scintillating full-lengths ('Counting the Ways' and 'Weightless'), Sanders has continued to amass acclaim as a key collaborator for vocalist Juanita Euka, Jonny Wickham and Billy Marrows, amongst a litany of other artists.  His penchant for Latin-infused contemporary jazz has yielded some sensational projects which now trickles down to the incredible Lophae albums in ‘Perfect Strangers’ and ‘Imagine More’.

He's been working as an engineer behind the boards at WBAI Pacifica for a few decades, and co-hosting Jeanie Hopper's Liquid Sound Lounge since '98. His own radio show From the Soundboard has been running since 2007, a 'program that usually focuses on concerts regardless of genre. This is where the artist and (or) group perfects the art of the "call and response" with its audience.' He does great deep dives on all kinds of artists and groups like Gal Costa, Link Wray, Yusef Lateef, Paul Robeson, Ramsey Lewis and many others. He's also helped promote parties since 1998 and has a longtime summer thing called Beats & BBQ. In his own words, he's 'just an average individual who believes in Socialist principles through music, arts and action. Everything is connected to everything.'
