Blog-November 18, 2024-9-10—It’s YOUR Business
   Our It’s YOUR Business Show---got to chase around a couple of different critters ---including The Mayor of Harrisburg---Derrick Wenck and Adam Walsh—what we wanted to do was to talk about the Sioux Metro Alliance. We normally get to talk with Jay Buckholz and Tyler Torgeson. They were making trips—somewhere else—and suggested we utilize Harrisburg as one of the 14 or is it 16 communities have starting working and discussing together.
    I like what is being done with the Sioux Metro Alliance----the communities are meeting once a month and talking about what they are doing in their towns—and what they could be doing together.
   Harrisburg is getting good marks---as are others----and even the South Dakota State leaders are suggesting that other corners of South Dakota starting doing the same thing—Could be the Hills Think---Southeast Corner Combining---or Northeast playing nice and together.
   Pardon me if we decide to follow along—and while we are at it—encouraging my home state of Iowa to do the same thing—and why not big ole Minnesota---Twin Cities and all. 
   Bryson Patterson—SBA of South Dakota---was talking with Brandon Hanson---new leader in Downtown Sioux Falls. We had a little trouble with the reaching BH by phone----but maybe our trouble helped him sort out---other concerns with a phone carrier. We like being able to bring SBA and Downtown Sioux Falls and others together---patience this morning made it happen.

   Quite the visit this morning from Gary Popkes and Cameo from Plains Commerce Bank. We were reminding people that we have a holiday straight ahead—and with families trying to figure out what to do today-tomorrow and beyond…using a family gathering to plan for the future could be good for this generation---the next and beyond. You should listen to the discussion—and see how it can fit your family. 
   WE had a chance to feature ---Alla from Ukraine in our 9-10 show this morning. We know that Alla’s hometown was hit with bombs---and destruction was massive---coming up---on November 23rd---at beautiful Augustana Hemre Hall-Calvin Jones—Executive Director of Freedom Haven---is putting together an event---that helps us help those that chose South Dakota when coming from Ukraine. Having been at 2 or 3 Ukrainian events-including one at McCrossan’s Boys Ranch earlier in the month---I know that business people from across South Dakota as well as politicians are looking for ways to get more Ukrainians into our state workforce. This event on the 23rd—is more opportunity to welcome them and look for answers for South Dakota and those facing shelling’s in Ukraine. We’ll talk more about this on Tuesday.
