South Dakota Marijuana Initiated Measure 27, the Marijuana Legalization Initiative, is on the ballot in South Dakota as an initiated state statute on November 8, 2022.
A "yes" vote supports this ballot initiative to legalize the possession, distribution, and use of marijuana for persons who are at least 21 years old.
A "no" vote opposes this ballot initiative to legalize the possession, distribution, and use of marijuana for persons who are at least 21 years old.
Overview
How will this amendment change marijuana laws in South Dakota?
This amendment would legalize the use and possession of recreational marijuana, as well as marijuana accessories and paraphernalia, in South Dakota for people who are at least 21 years old. Individuals would be allowed to possess or distribute up to one ounce of marijuana.[1]
An individual could own up to three marijuana plants (with no more than six plants per private property) as long as the individual lives in a jurisdiction where there is not a licensed marijuana retail store. The initiative would require that marijuana plants must be kept in a locked space and out of public view.[1]
Civil penalties would apply to individuals who violate provisions of this amendment.[1]

C & B Operations, LLC started with one location in 1988, in Gettysburg, SD, when Dan Cronin and Rod Burwell purchased the local John Deere dealership to support the farmers, ranchers and local community when the owner suddenly passed away. C & B has evolved to become one of the largest and most recognized John Deere dealership groups operating thirty-seven stores in South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho. C & B continues to build on their original commitment and honor Dan Cronin & Rod Burwell through the name, C & B, vision, and mission.
Today, C & B remains family owned and led by Rod Burwell’s sons, Peter, Blake and Michael. In 2021, C & B expanded into the Material Handling and Powersports division with eight material handling locations in Iowa, Louisiana, and Alabama and one powersports location in Okoboji, Iowa. Growing again in 2022, C & B acquired a ninth material handling location in Montana. The Burwell and Cronin fathers started the company and grew it on the same values that continue to be honored today: honesty, ethics, and hard work.
