Blog-September 14, 2021—10-11—SDFU Show
Still to be completed:
That is the scorecard—looking back to The Fair---and Summer---but we are looking ahead. The South Dakota Farmers Union Show today will do a lot of that.
South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds---is with his wife at the Mayo Clinic on this September morning----we will talk with him about New bipartisan stuff—like the McCool Bill---the American Beef Labeling Act---and a few more wishes that we have
Wayne Soren is Vice President of the South Dakota Farmers Union----Luke Reindl—does the marketing—and with me plans the monthly Farmers Union Show.
Rob Larew—President of the National Farmers Union will join us live from DC—or from a phone somewhere in the United States.
Plus we’ll get his take on his fly-outs to places like Redwood Falls Minnesota---where he saw people—we want to know what he was asked—and generally what he was able to say.
10:32---we’ll visit with one of the precious South Dakota Famers Union Pride Honorees. Ryan Jensen and his wife Jen –moved from Mitchell to Wessington Springs---and we’ll hear why living near grand-parents for the kids has been so important to them. He coaches youth baseball and basketball---and raises money for city pool improvements –and many other activities.
We will ask why---and the good feeling he gets as the feedback that lingers forever. Ryan holds an annual golf tournament—called Golfin for a Cause—that raises funds to benefit an individual or a family that may have health concerns or have something unfortunate happen in their life—and they need a little help.
Ryan shares that because he is a small business owner, volunteering is a way that he can give back and thank him community.
Safety is a key issue this time of year—with the fall harvest—already started. We like to talk about with groups like Sioux Valley Energy. Today Terry Ebright shares how to be safer—giving us some points on what to do---
Where there is life or death---you can never be too safe. We’ll look for ways—and bring in the man with the traveling billboards—Rocky Forman---what he has seen---what he tells those groups when he travels across South Dakota.
We close the show---with South Dakota State Climatologist—Laura Edwards. Laura understand safety as well---and sometimes its from clouds-storms-bolts of lightning ----icy or frozen roadways.
Laura will update us—looking for unique weather spots in South Dakota---sort of who leads the back in temperatures, moisture or lack their-of --- the harvest expectations ahead—and what she expects the monthly charts to show us about the rest of September and leading into the winter months of the year.
Our show is heard live at 1320, 105.1, 107.9---use the KELO App—Streaming on line –or just ask Alexa.
South Dakota Farmers Union will post the show on their website—each month—allowing many of those across South Dakota and the nation to listen to what we are discussing and sharing with our audience.
Norm Anderson will post the show on our KELO-AM Website---to find it—go to PODCAST—It’s YOUR Business—and look for this show---the September 13, 2021—10-11 Show.
