Blog—September 10, 2025—10-11—It’s YOUR Agri Business
Congressman Dusty Johnson joined our show and with all the meetings he was having was just 10 minutes late from being our lead guest in the show.
So we shared another warning signal that you need to act. And it was Blackburn Studios----sharing with our audience—that with snow coming soon-----that if you are going to have concrete needs—you had better do it now—and pricing too is something you can get right now.
In addition radon is now emerged as in play in several homes. Kristin Merfeld---was in play---and to me it’s been awhile since I have even thought of radon. A few years ago when I was strapping Real Estate Agent—radon gas was so common that tests were traditionally done before someone would by a home and move in. Well—it’s back—and with the winter ahead—that is a fear that home owners should think about again.
Kristin---while the Congressman and yes Candidate for Governor was still meeting---continued to share what they are doing to help and how act now or you could be sorry.
Congressman Johnson did come on at 10:14---and we talked about the meeting he had with Farmers Union Members----in DC---what there concerns were with---and how he would do his best to help.
In addition –the concerns on Social Security checks—and what they would be---or if there would be checks in 2034. The Mitchell office holder explained—and made us all think of those aging—those that may not have the income if there even is social security in 2034 that amounts to a South Dakota hill of beans.
Lots to talk about---and yes you’ll hear from Dusty—as we were able to do for this Agri Business Show—heard around the state and in neighboring states.
The show also included Jeff Kippley—National Farmers Union VP and South Dakota Farmers Union Vice President. Kippley will be available next week when we do our South Dakota Farmers Union Show on Tuesday 10-11.
Joe Kippley---Sioux Falls Health Director talked to us on this day about how it is up to communities like Sioux Falls to start looking at budgets that could be greatly affected if that social security threat on delivering checks hits in 2034.
Sarah Heinrich—had the Growing Harvest Network Matt Swenson—the Morning Commodities----and we heard from Hank with Sanford International on what was happening this morning and what’s ahead with a great weekend of Senior Golf at the Sioux Falls Country Club.
Laura Edwards—South Dakota State Climatologist---updated us for the tournament and around the state for the week ahead.
Mr. Tree John Ball shared the urgency on the emerald ash borer trees with the City of Sioux Falls finding hundreds that needed and still need to be removed. Hundreds---and it’s not good news—and also expensive news. Thousands to remove the trees---and the question do you do it now or wait with winter just peaking around the corner.
Our It’s YOUR Business and Agri Business Shows are available live 4 days a week—forget the weekend and Thursday. 9-10 and 10-11. Use these notes as a guide to what’s in the show(s)----
Norm Anderson –posts the show podcast, my job is to schedule and interview the guests—and write this blog to help you look thru the shows posed as the PODCAST.
