Blog-November 19, 2024—10-11---It’s YOUR Agri Business---Show 46-59
Our It’s YOUR Agri Business Show---started with Rob Larew—President of the National Farmers Union. President Larew had just put out quite the statement on the Farm Bill.

National Farmers Union Urges Congressional Leadership to Take Swift Action on the Farm Bill

WASHINGTON – National Farmers Union (NFU) President Rob Larew today made the following statement on the Farm Bill:

“Our priority for family farmers and ranchers remains steadfast: Congress must pass a strong, comprehensive five-year Farm Bill before year’s end. A Farm Bill provides the certainty and stability farmers need, including a strengthened safety net, disaster assistance, robust investments in conservation and measures to help farmers compete more effectively. While significant work has been done by the House and Senate Agriculture Committees, leaders at the highest levels in both chambers must now make passing a strong, comprehensive five-year Farm Bill their top priority before the year ends.”

What was left was for us to do but the start the Ag Show with President Larew talking about what he expected and wanted---as he was “turning up the heat” on the Lame Duck Session”.
For those listening----it was a matter that we have been trying to get a farm bill passed for a long time---and now it needs to be done.
There can be little doubt with all the tension in DC---that passing a farm bill might be easier---the new administration needs something in the win column that could be bringing people together. We know that President Larew and those around the country wanted it to be accomplished.
The National Farmers Union advocated the position on behalf of more than 230,000 American Farm Families and their communities.
Dave Scaturo—helped us with the interview of President Larew in Kansas City as well as 20 others. Today—we continue to share the interviews in both the 9-10 and 10-11 show. People from all over the mid-west---and other parts of the country talked to us---and if gave us a chance to visit with businesses that need our farm and business listeners.
Among the interviews included in this show---PTX, Growmark, Helena Agri-Enterprises, Corteva, BASF, National Pork, UPL, and more.
Among the other guests in the show—Bryson Patterson—SBA of South Dakota----Brandon Hansen---Downtown Sioux Falls, Sarah Heinrich—Growing Harvest Network, Matt Swenson—Swenson Commodities--- and yes South Dakota State Climatologist—Laura Edwards.
We provide information that supports the number one industry in South Dakota---Agriculture. We work hard with Minnesota and Iowa---for farm segments as well. The more we work---the more we find that the Dakotas and Iowa and Minnesota have a lot in common.
Many of those we talked with in Kansas City---where from the Dakotas---Nebraska---Missouri----Wisconsin----and of course Minnesota and Iowa. They know about our radio show---they know that we work hard and enjoy bringing people together either from the farm---or appreciating all that is on the farm.
We closed the show with Feeding South Dakota event that is coming up on November 23rd. Yes I did the interview before 7:00 to run in both hours. Thanksgiving is the time of year that we want people to have enough food to eat---whether it be in the rural areas of South Dakota---or in the larger communities of Rapid City and Sioux Falls.
The fact that 1500 meals would be given away in Sioux Falls and in Rapid City on Saturday the 23rd---is important. If you are in agriculture and you aren’t helping feed those that are hungry----it leaves a little displeasure in growing the food---but not getting it to people we live with that really need it.
There is no doubt---that they need the help---and we appreciate those that donate---and organize and make a difference—even if it might only be once a year.
Norm Anderson will provide the Podcast of this show---the 19th of November 2024---10-11---hour. I write the blog—schedule the guest—and occasionally have an idea or two that makes a difference.
