Blog—November 15, 2024-10-11-It’s YOUR Agri Business
Coming next Monday and Tuesday in our 10-11 Show—we will share the almost 20 guests we talked to the National Farm Broadcasters Convention in Kansas City.
Dave Scaturro did all the work in KC---I got to record—and make sense of all the things I was hearing from Kansas City, from Washington DC, and yes in South Dakota. What we did do was to let people know about our farm audience here—their appetite for information---and why our Governor---Senator Thune and others are being tapped for duties in the off-the-wall White House that we expect when the I do happens in January.
In this show—you hear the National Farmers Union President Rob Larew tell us what he sees in Ag ahead----strong 9-10 minutes of we have to work together and how we are going to do it.
His counterpart with National Farm Bureau—Zippy Duval is one of the serious candidates being considered for Ag Secretary---
Following our President Larew interview—we’ll visit with the first guy we talked to on the way to Kansas City---Ron Lamberty---yes lots of talk about pipelines and energy----and we visit with him after his entourage arrived back from Kansas City early this morning.
Brandon Hanson---Downtown Sioux Falls gives us a look at the events this weekend---what to expect—what to do—Brandon will be there to tell us.
Mike Costano—talked with us in the 9-10 hour today---and will be sharing his special gun show this Saturday and Sunday. I’m not a hunter—but I know who to talk to –to make sure our audience gets all the information they can. It will be at WH Lyon Fairgrounds---9-5 on Saturday and 9 to 3 on Sunday. Admission $10. As a non-profit organization---the Dakota Territory also contributes a portion of its proceeds from the show to youth hunting programs.
Sarah Heinrich—KFGO Fargo has the Growing Harvest Network---she’s good at what she does—and we do share with our Midwest Communication broadcast sites.
Matt Swenson will have the morning commodities-----and yes the big board on Wall Street.
Bryson Patterson was with us on Wednesday—as we talked about it being Veterans Small Business Week. He had a forum Thursday—and we promised to bring Stacy and Nick back to share what they learned to help our audience learn.
Alla---yes the voice for us for 2-3 years on Ukraine visits with us –telling us what she hears and sees from home. Calvin Jones Executive Director of Freedom Haven will have an event on November 23rd at Hamre Hall at Augustana. We’ll talk the war in Ukraine—and how you can help with this event a week from Saturday.
Mr. Tree John Ball will join us---and it looks like we will have Laura Edwards—our State Climatologist with us as well.
That should give you quite the show—the variety of what’s out there from war-to fund-raising—the Ag side—and what looks like might get done with a new administration that begins in January.
