Blog---May 2, 2025---9-10—It’s YOUR Business

Our It’s YOUR Business series oldest family like event is on the 9-10 Show on Friday. Topics that fit with six or so guests explaining what is important and what the audience should know.

On this first  show day for us in May---Jodi Schwan—Sioux Falls Business—Jessie Schmidt—BBB of South Dakota, Teri Schmidt—Experience Sioux Falls, Kip Rounds—SD Game Fish and Parks, Ron Nelson---Nelson Commercial Real Estate, Taryn Seitsema----new Chief Development Officer for Downtown Sioux Falls, Danita Murray---SD Corn---had to crash into our Business Show in DC where she was catching a plane back to Sioux Falls and we closed the show with Sanford’s Diana Patterson.

Jodi was talking about a Big Week for Foundation Park—as a new integrated health service center opens—new building numbers out for the first  months of the year---she was passionate about farmers market opening, new sculptures, parking changes and art and wine walk.

Rosie’s was closing and Jodi and  Ron Nelson are speaking to my old Rotary Club Monday. But he was defending the White House Occupant—on all that he was doing in his first 100 days. My job is to keep it down the middle---and he made his points—I did my expected Q & A---and we smiled as we did the interview.

The new numbers that Jodi talked about that were out on Home Building and Commercial Real Estate from the City of Sioux Falls—were solid—and in our Monday Show—we’ll talk to the leaders on housing and building…in the 9-10 show.

Jessie Schmidt—shared BBB and National Do-Not-Call Registry---and the too good to be true---claims.

Teri Schmidt----was convincing on the importance of going to their Tourism Luncheon  in May. The event is on May 13th---Jason Newlett is the speaker and is world acclaimed on teaching leadership in a performance of astounding music and comedy impressions utilizing legends of the stage. The event is at the Sioux Falls Convention Center 11:30 to 1:30---you can expect if Teri put together it will be one you will long remember.

Kip Rounds—SD Game Fish and Parks—was mighty happy to be talking about the Great Month of May. Turkey hunting, morel mushroom hunters hitting the woods, walleye fishing has been picking up and its also that time of year when campgrounds are filling up.

Can’t doubt that it is a great time to enjoy the South Dakota Outdoors. Kip makes it sound like so much fun.

Taryn Seitsema---is the new Chief Development Officer for Downtown Sioux Falls---with Brandon on the road---her first appearance was outstanding—as we talked about the May Art and Wine Walk—celebration of local art, community and wine---and much more. She was good at what she did---never a lost for words and makes a good messenger for Downtown activities.

After our Danita Murray interview flying back to Sioux Falls—Diana Patterson –Sanford Career Opportunities talked to us about “Compliance” positions.

It’s YOUR Business show numbers are knocking on the door of 5,000 individual shows here in Sioux Falls—this was 48-07.
