South Dakota Dept of Health Secretary—Kim Malsam Rysdon---in a 10 minute interview shares the importance of getting vaccinated---how to do it---and even how you share with those in your family or friends that are reluctant ---even during the Pandemic to get one of the three vaccines.
The Health Secretary answered the pressing question---how with South Dakota Open for Business---do we continue to push for safety---her answers are genuine----and I think you will find that she understands that the vaccine campaigns –like the one being pushed by South Dakota Farmers Union----and others from medicine, business, and local governments reassuring.
Vice President Soren and Rocky will share what is ahead---with fairs----camps starting in just days----plus how do it safely.
The Man in Motion takes the Safety Trailer on the road to various events---promoting safety with all ages.
Around 10:20—Tim Rave—President/CEO South Dakota Association of Health Care Organizations explains how they are working on the need for South Dakota to expand Medicaid. Our State is one of only a handful of states----that has not expanded Medicaid. Mr. Rave will explain why he sees---what would like to see the Medicaid expansion look like for South Dakotans.
10:33---you’ll meet Larry Stroschein—with his wife Sharon are the South Dakota Farmers Union Farm Family of the month.
Larry is a third generation rancher from Mansfield---not far from Aberdeen. When we talked with him---he had just done some fencing----and mowing the yard. He in essence has retired---but a plan in place for his family to move on with their family operation---he loves the cows---loves his family---and you’ll hear---he is a darn good story teller.
Around 10:40—Eric Sumption---SD Farmers Union Member and South Dakota Beef Industry leader with the Council’s Board of directors---shares with us how to feel about elevated corn prices---which is good news for corn growers—but that being translated—is an increase price for Cattle Producers and feeders.
We’ll talk about the economics of the beef industry---pretty much flat lined—yet for the prices of boxed beef—the prices are quite high.
Eric shares what’s ahead----and how the SD Beef Industry will help with the marketing and moving members forward.
Candi Briley---South Dakota State Fair joins us with a count down to the Fair coming around Labor Day. South Dakota Farmers Union is a big part of the event----and we’ll get the take on what to expect from Huron.
Last stop is with Laura Edwards—South Dakota State Climatologist.
Even though there is rain in the forecast for a good part of South Dakota—we’ll get her take on ‘how dry I am’.
We’ll talk short range—longer range---and where she sees the weather wizards taking us between now and the fall harvest.
