Blog—June 16, 2025—9-10—It’s YOUR Business

   Our It’s YOUR Business Show has been on a mission---in South Dakota---as part of the legislation passed by the 2025 Legislature---we are helping the people around Lake Madison---share this past Saturday’s Water Education Training Day----along with the July 1st Effective Date—that Auto Safety and Water Safety expectations are the same.

   We have talked to the family who lost their daughter after being struck by a moving water-craft---lawmakers who brought the legislation to Pierre and passed it---and now the hope that South Dakota will be as safe on the waters as neighboring states.

    Larry Kotten has worked with us to understand what the community went thru as did the family who lost a daughter’s life. Sheriff’s, other law-enforcement---South Dakota Game Fish and Parks--- and lawmakers have been sharing their stories and in many times crying their way over what happened—and how we have to be better than that in South Dakota.

     Casey Crabtree has helped us to understand what is at stake. We know that this is a life or death situation for a generation---and even if I can’t swim or show any mobility in the water----I can use our airways to encourage citizens and yes other media to get behind this.

     Hillside Resort is going to join us on Tuesday---with Luke Fortney and Yessie----businesses understand---and we hope others in our state will be following the law when the clock strikes July 1st.

     In between talks of Lake Madison and Water-ways—we visited with Tyler Tordsen---Sioux Metro Alliance –now with 18 community members. To me---this is good for friendly small towns as well as Sioux Falls that needs workers---and shoppers to continue to help pull things together. We enjoy our monthly visits with Sioux Metro—and yes Mayor Paul in Sioux Falls will be missed when he fulfills his term(s) of Mayor in 2026. The working together—the fun for the 4th---all issues that Tyler can talk to ---as well as working on legislative matters that count. 

     Between Lake Madison businesses—families---and neighboring folks saying enough is enough already. Game Fish and Parks helped with the training----and will encourage people to know what you can do on the waterways and then see that others follow it.

     Each day leading up to July 1st---we will share in our broadcasts—why those we interview—believe in making this life-style change---and we will follow along as the regulations become the law of the state.

     Norm Anderson provides the podcast for the It’s YOUR Business Show----he works with me –and that isn’t always easy--- but he wants our growing audience to have the program they can listen to when they have time—and to see the blog’s that I write---to summarize what was in the actual hour.
