Blog---June 10, 2025—10-11—SD Farmers Union Show

  In our monthly South Dakota Farmers Union Show—we had a chance to talk about key agri-features in June 2025.

  Joining us in studio—Rocky Forman—Member Services Coordinator SD Farmers Union.

  Among the guests---Liz Crosby---State Senior Camp—Jr Advisory Council.

  Liz talked to us about what she is learning at the State Senior Camp with the Junior Advisory Council. In essence she talked about why these young people want to give up some of their summer freedom  to get right back together and learn. We talked about the importance of the summer camp—key topics they were discussing---what the Junior Advisory Council will take with them after their Camp—how many are on the council---and why they want to keep coming back at making a difference. 

  Mitch Richter---who works with us in Pierre with legislative matters is a good one to talk about Pierre and legislative sessions---even the summer studies---and of course the revenue that makes the programs work in South Dakota. He has helped us before and he was useful to help us understand where we are and what else we need to know.

   Brett Heezen is NEXT LEVEL Ag—he is joined us to talk with a planting and growing update—how the crops are looking and what farmers-producers are watching. Brooklyn Berringer---shared that Rodeo is MY LIFE—Reflecting on Rodeo being her life---what she is learning and what she hopes to do. Energetic---and role model---enjoyed the visit---and she enjoys representing South Dakota Farmers Union.

   Hagen Fritzche-Mitchell Tech President and All States Participant –interesting and gives us the signal that more and more tech schools in South Dakota are plugging into the South Dakota Farmers Union. Good for them and good for Farmers Union. Expect more Hagen’s in the future at other tech schools. 

    We talked with Candi Briley---South Dakota State Fair---she always counts down the days to the start of the fair—talks about how people are working together—and credits other fairs around South Dakota—that work with the State Event. Special---and Candi knows virtually how to talk all the time—keeping us engaged as well as Fairs all over this great state. 

     John Ball—Mr. Tree shared the breaking news of the morning—Emerald Ash Bore discovered in Milbank in Grant County---we talked about cutting down trees---we talked as well about what to expect---and what else Mr. Tree is seeing. 

     Our South Dakota Farmers Union Show—does talk to so many different people—different ages and looks ahead to what we’ll see this summer and in the future of our state from our young people.
