Blog---July 23, 2025—10-11—It’s YOUR Agri Business
Sioux Falls Legislator Greg Jamison joined us to update the discussion on the South Dakota State Prison---where it’s at—what will happen----and along the line we got to discussing all the services that being close to Sioux Falls has on those incarcerated.
We talked as well about the Special Session that will come in September and what will be discussed.
Mayor Seeley of Beresford joined us in the studio with the help of Tyler Torgeson who heads up the Sioux Metro Alliance with 17 or 18 members---that work together---learn together and quite frankly have created a picture—almost—perfect set up---for these communities to work together on issues and enjoy each other’s activities. If you are a community in this area and haven’t become a part of this very much talked about organization---take time and get aboard. It’s YOUR Business has adopted the communities--- and what the group is doing and hopefully this model will get larger---and others in locations I’ve worked at as well---will see this modern model makes much more sense.
We talked with Nolan Clarke---The Planners at Plains Commerce Bank. The interesting times where many get concerned about what will happen with all the feuding freaking out folks from the DC discussions. If you have questions about what you are going to do---ask the Planners at Plains. While you are at it—don’t be afraid to talk with those that represent South Dakota in DC. You have concerns—speak up---and ask the Planners what they would suggest.
Sarah Heinrich---provided the Growing Harvest Network from KFGO in Fargo---Matt Swenson---Swenson Commodities gave us the mid-morning numbers in the grain bins, energy and yes the Big Board on Wall Street.
One of the projects we are pushing is the Dairy Queen promotions with the Sanford International Golf Event that will be coming up in September. Bethany from Sioux Falls DQ and DeLeon from Madison DQ talked about how the Queen is working on this biggest golf event annually in Sioux Falls-as well as Sanford Hospital too. Not a bad way to walk---and certainly good food to eat from Dairy Queen.
We talked with Alla---about hard-working people in Watertown---that may be removed because they don’t have the American Blood or lineage to stay and be contributing members of society in Watertown. Yes they came from Ukraine---but it wouldn’t hurt---Noem, Rounds, Johnson, or Thune—to pay attention to what those people in our rural communities see in the work-man-ship skills of Ukrainians. We’ll keep talking about it---and ask residents in Watertown what they see. That is what America is suppose to be like ---those that work to be good citizens should stay---not play the game we don’t care what you did when you came to South Dakota---even if neighbors and leaders say—we need more of these Ukrainians.
We did another segment on the Flowers Event coming Friday at Alpena. Brenda Dryer has helped us share what they pretty flowers can mean in Alpena---or your community.
Laura Edwards—our South Dakota State Climatologist gave us a professional look at what she sees in our state—past, present and future.
Our It’s YOUR Agri Business Show---provides the opportunity for us to share guests from around the state—not all Mayors, or Lawmakers, but those in agriculture which does include Flowers---pumpkins and yes flowers.
Listen live to the show at 1320, 105.1, 107.9—use the KELO App—Streaming on Line ---or just ask Alexa. Norm Anderson posts the Podcast on the website, I schedule the guests, interview them, and write the blog giving you a little more to go with he Podcast.
