Blog---July 11, 2025—9-10—It’s YOUR Business—Show 48-99
Interesting---It’s YOUR Business Friday---- the unexpected can happen and it changes all you do. It happened this morning.
Our usual Friday Family Facts were in place---
Jodi Schwan---Sioux Falls Business---talked to us about what she has worked on and continues to work on.
Latest takeaway from her CEO Survey. So often quoted---so often taken as the #1 real thing
Some mid-year new openings: Expansion at the Clubhouse Hotel, new Atomic Wings, location ---on the west side
Mayor Paul Ten Haken was a poster politician with Planet Heart Screenings. Great story---and we’ll be following along with his Honor in Future Shows—and I know Jodi knows the value of a leader like the Mayor taking time to be screened—that serves as an example for others down the road.
Jessie Schmidt---BBB of South Dakota----was working as she should be ---again—on keeping you from being SCAMMED. So many people being taken---Mid-west Friendly costs so many people who feel they need to answer every call, each piece of meal----or knock on the door. Scamming has become not only a terrible starting step for shysters—but has left so many people taken to the monetary cleaners. When in doubt –don’t do it.
Teri Schmidt---Experience Sioux Falls—helped us with the Jump Rope National Event last week—this week she is talking about Lallycooler----at the Jacobsen Plaza. If you go—be friendly—make friends—sell Sioux Falls a little ---and we all win.
Kip Rounds—SD Game Fish and Parks--- was talking Pheasant Hunting preparations---and in the dog days of summer fishing and camping are a bug deal—recent rains have helped water levels throughout southeast SD as well as habitat for awhile.
Kip confessed to gearing up for the 4th annual Gear Giveaway at the Outdoor Campus on August 9th.
Brandon Hanson gave a long list of events for Downtown Sioux Falls. So many people are utilizing the downtown resources to have fun, do some business, and enjoy the mid-part of July in 2025. Brandon has the list on line—and they have additional people who are writing information for you to follow-along on what is available and when.
Cat Clark—has worked on and off with us for 15 years or so---I know from the Broadcast Side—know him from the Golf Side at Elmwood---but when I took a call from him on Thursday—he shared that his wife who had been ill for awhile and just passed away. I was calling him to be on the show and talk golf—and shared---Cat –you have our sympathies---and we hope all the people that care for you and your family will feel as sorry as we did. He did the show—we talked about his wife---the family---and yes the people that are keeping the family in their prayers.
John Gaskins with the Sioux Falls Canaries---had called me this morning to tell me about Cat and the loss of his wife. We had both worked with him---and we know that while life goes on—for golfers and Canaries---- we pause a moment to say a prayer—and share with Cat our deepest sympathies.
The Canaries are still in the playoff hunt, really provided quite the events during the military remembering ---and we. The Birds took care of the fans—military and those that support military—and have had a season worth remembering.
Diana Patterson—shared their search for environmental services employees for Sanford. Yes they need RN’s and LPN’s too---and this is for system-wide at Sanford.
Our It’s YOUR Business show is heard 9-10 and 10-11—weekdays in all but Thursday’s. Our guests have stories to tell—and we do our bet to serve our listeners. This blog tells you what’s in the show and when.
