TThe Sioux Falls Canaries enter the week riding a season-high four-game winning streak and with a 24-22 record overall, good for second place in the West Division.

----SIOUXPERIOR

This week the Birds won five of six games against I-29 rival Sioux City during a home-and-home series. Sioux Falls won two of the three games at the Birdcage before sweeping all three contests at Lewis & Clark Park. This marks the first time since 2022 that the Canaries have won the regular season series against the Explorers, taking nine of the twelve matchups between the two teams this season.  

----ELITE COMPANY

This week the Birds became just the third franchise to win 900 games as members of the American Association. The historic victory came during a suspended game that began Thursday in Sioux Falls and finished Friday in Sioux City. A founding member of the league in 2006, the Canaries join Sioux City and Lincoln as the only clubs to achieve the milestone.

----THE STARS ALIGN

The Canaries will be well-represented at this year’s American Association All-Star Game in Lincoln. Michael Curialle (shortstop) and Josh Rehwaldt (designated hitter) have been voted starters for the West Division club with Mike Hart selected as a reserve. Mike Meyer will manage the team after guiding the Canaries to a 2025 West Division playoff title. The game will take place on Wednesday, July 15, and will be broadcast on MLB Network.

----AMONG THE LEAGUE LEADERS

The Canaries lead the American Association with 13 triples, rank second in walks drawn (208) and on-base percentage (.371), third in runs scored (275), total hits (423) and doubles (92), fourth in batting average (.275) and fifth in slugging (.428) as a team.

Josh Rehwaldt leads all qualified hitters in on-base percentage (.476) and OPS (1.056), sits second in batting average (.361) and third in slugging (.580) while Mike Hart is third in batting average (.351), fourth in OPS (1.003), fifth in on-base percentage (.432) and sixth in slugging (.571) this season. Anthony Hall has hit a league-best five triples and ranks fourth with 38 runs scored. On the pitching side, closer Charlie Hasty’s nine saves are one shy of the top spot in the Association.

----WHAT'S ON DECK

The Canaries wrap up the first half of the 2026 season with a seven-game road trip. The Birds open a three-game set at Chicago Tuesday night before traveling to Kansas City for four, kicking off with a Friday night doubleheader.
