Blog—December 3, 2025—9-10 & 10-11---Special Leg Subjects

  After the Governor called a news conference over the weekend---we took the opportunities to do with a number of callers wanted us to do---talk with people in Sioux Falls and smaller communities---about cut backs in the state—involving grants and money for education----with state management not staying on budget ----with all the other expenses they are doing.

   We had talked first to Casey Crabtree---lawmaker that was concerned about how it was done---what they were doing and when they meet in January-----just what the consensus will be.  It’s really the first time we have utilized the space (Air Space) –to ask some difficult and issue questions that are and will or could effect all of the state.

   Among those we talked with---Joe Kippley---Health Director of Sioux Falls---Erik Muckey---part of the Sioux Metro Group—who hales from Corsica as a Legislator.

   Add to that list another handful who weighed in on what the Legislators should do in mid-January during the legislative session.

   Jumping into the discussion in addition to Crabtree, Kippley and Muckey---was Congressman Dusty Johnson---a veteran in being a lawmaker in Pierre---and now in Washington DC. 

   The Congressman is one of four candidates that has announced his intentions to run for Governor----he has accepted the offers we have made to be part of answering our questions on the Business and Agri Business portion of our radio shows.

    Governor Rhoden has been offered several opportunities to be part of the discussion---but has not asked or accepted the chance to talk with our audience.

    If you support the Governor---let him know ---we have done 5,051 radio shows now ----and we have built a reputation in a not only Sioux Falls, South Dakota---Iowa, Minnesota and other states. We won’t bite and the reputation I’ve developed with also having anchored 5,000+ TV newscasts in a dozen states—is the audience is important and they want to hear BOTH sides of the story. I don’t purport to accept or follow GOP or Democratic beliefs—just the belief that asking fair questions for the audience is important in my profession. Would love to have Governor Rhoden on with us----but he really hasn’t been available except maybe a time or two since Governor Noem took a position in Washington.

   So for the record---until lawmakers meet in the 2026 session in Mid-January---the doors are open to the 4 candidates for Governor----including Governor Rhoden and Congressman Johnson. Feel free to deliver that message to both—because we want our audience and others who follow—to know all candidates are welcome to answer the It's YOUR Business questions.
