Blog—August 8, 2025—10-11—It’s YOUR Agri Business
Our It’s YOUR Agri Business Show---made a little history in this one.
Kristi Merfeld—Blackburn Basement Repair ---updated us on the all the work they have been doing—with basement challenges after the heavy rains we have been having. The flooding is a perfect work—and as Kristi told us—after 2 days of the heavy rains—then a week—they had over 1,000 requests for service---- since then we have updated what they have been doing and today –with her son with her---she explained all they are doing---and how they were able to even find some to help with the flooding.
As we have promised our listeners---Blackburn will continue to update us as well---another one of those that works with us---the other Gingerich Structures. They work on entirely different parts of the structures---but in 3 of the interviews—we did –during the storm time—they ran back to back. Something we know the listeners appreciated.
We also announced 4 pack tickets for Dakota Fest in Mitchell. This is a Text to Win event---and we’ll continue to mention on our shows—and then winners will be chosen at random---and without my help—which is OK by me. We will live at Dakota Fest on August 20th-9-11.
Sadie Swier---hosted her 4th annual Women’s Visionary Summit this past week---and knowing what she had done in previous years—we wanted to help businesses and companies to attend and learn from the sessions. We talked with Darci Ford –from Webster and recently they added Volga-----For a few dollars---they get state of the art information from experts—and there are so many success stories out there that we have to be involved—particularly with those businesses just started—or those in smaller communities. More of those speaking to the attendees will be included in future shows.
Alla—from Ukraine---now South Dakota talked to us about the Russia-Ukraine dealings—and what could be coming. Alla also brought us up-to-date on peace talks, the Watertown Ukrainian family that looked like Former Governor here Kristi Noem wasn’t going to help even someone well received in Watertown----in the end---the family now has somewhere between 2 and 10 years to stay and show their worth in South Dakota---in Watertown.
We did an interesting segment with Craig Nichols—the Washed Clean Ministries----who over the last 7 years are seeing the community rallying around and people contributing their time, talents and money to facilitate the mission of washed clean. Craig was joined by Jack Levine for their events this week—and they are seeking $150,000 donation to build a facility to make a difference. Mr. Nichols shared how residents have job and skill training while providing service to the community. He says he has been blessed and amazed to the see transformation of people’s lives as they are totally wash clean of past sin and addiction and a living free productive lives thanks to the care, love, program and teachings at Washed Clean. .
We were scheduled to have Sylvia Walters—Pipestone Center at the Fairgrounds –after 14-15 is planning to retire—but not completely. We know she helped make the decision 14 or 15 years ago that Pipestone would pick Chicago or Sioux Falls to work a Pipestone Center and serve the kids. She picked Sioux Falls. We were going to thank her---and were expecting us to join us in the last few minutes of the show. We tried to reach her-but no answer---and then I learned an hour or so after the show—that she couldn’t call because she had dropped her phone and put it out of commission.
With her retiring—we wanted to thank her—and when Sylvia got to a phone we set up another interview---with a phone that works. The Lord sometimes works in mysterious ways----and we’ll tell that story next week.
Listen live to show at 1320, 105.1, 107.9—use the KELO-App—Streaming on line or just ask Alexa. Norm Anderson posts the podcast—my job is to schedule the guests, interview them, do follow ups---and write this blog. Something we are doing for the 4,921 time.
