Blog---August 4, 2025—9-10—The Report Card Show

   One of the farms we have cultivated thru the 10 years we have been doing our Report Card Show---was to bring together those from the Home Builders Association, Real Estate Association, The Bankers---new comers to the industry as well as those that matriculated up the ranks to knowing what it takes to list a home, sell a home, build a home, or just maintain service to fix or to supply needed ingredients that may have worn out.

   With as many as a dozen or 2 dozen guests he have in the Report Card Show and the Remodelers Shows---these are live—caring people who has been a part of the necessary transactions—and walk away with scenarios that keep our frame of minds pointed in the right direction.

    Yes I ask obvious questions—but I also take the time to question those walking in their shoes---and what is being lived.

    When you listen to the show this morning---we included I think 15 different points on view---which indicate the popularity our area is having with people that can’t afford their homes in other parts of the country---and many have been told or see for themselves---who’s qualifying for homes, who’s selling homes, who buying and where they are from, as well as banking options you may not be aware of.

    Interesting---but having lived in other sections of this country from Arizona to Kentucky and Tennessee--- the South—the Midwest---I’m always somewhat surprised that little South Dakota is faring as well as they are.

    Neil King---helped get us off to a roaring start last Friday on the first day of August—sharing the jumps we have made over the last year, two years. We shared the 1st of the month numbers on Friday—when we closed our 10:00 show on the first day of August.

    The shelves apparently are filled and there is a possibility—though no guarantee that we’ll hit the billion dollar mark by September 1st.

     Among the others included in this show today—Teddi Mueller---Home Builders Association Leader, Jack Zika and Cory Hjelling Construction, the banking couple Dave and Kelly Kelly, Jerry Berg Intek, Todd Boots Past President of the South Dakota Home Builders, and Steve Swenson---Handyman.

      We closed the show –keeping a close eye on THE SIOUX EMPIRE Fair which opened last Friday and is now in it’s 4th day. Julie Hammer who has been helping manage the show for ten plus years—gave us an update as to what happened on the weekend---as well as what will happen this week---including Ag Appreciation Day---Wednesday at the Sioux Falls Fairgrounds.
