   Once a month on the 4th Tuesday of the month---we do just one Business Show—that day.

   The reason? South Dakota Farm Bureau—has the ownership of the 10-11 hour—and they provide the farm stories---and share their interviews—with important SDFB stories.

    We are always happy to have them with us---much the same as we do on the 2nd Tuesday of the month 10-11---when I host the South Dakota Farmers Union Show. Ag is the #1 industry in South Dakota---and we make it a priority to tell the stories and share the interviews that matter. 

   But in our 9:00-10:00 Business Show this morning—Gerri Eide—FFA Leader for a number of years—introduces us to the Stiefvater Family of Salem---named the 2024 Family of the Year. 

   As Gerri will share—the Stiefvater family has a long history in the South Dakota FFA spanning three generations. John served on the South Dakota FFA Advisory Board in the 1980’s advocating for agriculture education in schools when many programs were being cut. Liz—the family matriarch, supported and promoted the chapter in a variety of capacities.

   Jim, Kurt, Dr. Mike, Carie, Lauren, Megan, Karlie, Hadley, Ella and Colton are all current of past SD FFA members. 

   As a testament to the importance of agriculture within the Stiefvater family, John actively advocated for the preservation of the local chapter to the Salem School Board in 1984 after a period of declining student involvement and financial support. 

   We’ll let you listen in to what the family is doing today for FFA in Salem and around the state.

   #2----Dean Sorenson is an old friend—we have worked together with projects and as part of service clubs and yes the broadcasting fraternity. He sent me a note along with other South Dakota TV and Radio Stations wanting us to draw attention to the State of South Dakota Statehood which is 135 years old this year.

   He listed in his letter that the anniversary date is April 26th---this Friday. But what happened when Dean and I double checked the date?

   Interesting---but it is—as you will hear—a chance to engage our media in South Dakota to make it a big deal---just a little later in the year.

   So together-Dean—and I (if he wants me to) will encourage our other broadcast and journalistic partner to make a big deal of this---3 days before the General Election. 

   Meantime Dean can share a few stories—why South Dakota is the state that it is—and what he has been able to do as broadcaster in our area.

   AT 9:32---Leslee Unruh----yes Mrs. Allen Unruh will join me to talk about a big event this Friday at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.

   Must have been a weak moment for the Unruh’s---the same stage that the Catholic Bishop will be praying on----and many others telling the importance of 40 years of Mission work---what was then---and what is now will make for an interesting interview in this show---as well as having me work as the MC.

   There is much to do-----and Leslee with Allen are the hosts. Hundreds will attend—and hopefully speak and give to this important cause.

   Dr. Allen is scheduled to be with me in the 9:00 working on wellness show tomorrow.

   We close the hour talking about the 67th Annual Lions Club Pancake Days which begins at 4PM today at the Sioux Fals Convention Center. You get a second chance tomorrow from 6am to 8:00PM to enjoy the pancakes, the smokies—Wells Blue Bunny Ice Cream—and help the Lions Club projects that include heling to aid the vision and hearing impaired and other charities in our community.
