Blog—April 14, 2025-10-11—It’s YOUR Agri Business

An interesting show---with both spring business and agri-business.

   We opened with Colter Quinn—Head Lifeguard/Aquatic, Director-Marketing, Director-Social Director—Wild Water West Waterpark.

Friday we broke into spring in our 9-10—Show with Mr. Golf—Dave Austad---all with THE MASTER’s being staged in Augusta, Georga. Some of those who listened to the show—wanted to us show a little spring in our step in the show for Monday—including Wild Water West—having discount prices thru the end of April---for the May 16th opening. So we did---and our guest---Colter took us thru all that we should know—the number of those expected to utilize Wild Water West, Flamingo Falls Campground—and other needs this summer. We reminded as well—that our Chamber would want us to welcome the guests---and make them want to come back. Colter will return as we approach the passes going up in price on May1st.

Vance Thompson joined us-----he is having quite the event tonight—it’s called Discover Clearer Vision. We were happy to talk to him about what to expect at 3101 W 5th-beginning from 5 to 7:3—the informational stations and mini-screenings

6-630—Formal Education –Drawing Winner will be announced.

   6:30-7:30 -Mini-Screenings resume---

   What you can do

-----ask a Doctor about your Corrective Surgery Options

-----Discover If you are a candidate and your best option

-----Learn about pricing and payment options when considering the vision correction procedures

  -----Schedule a full evaluation

-----And you can after scanning to register—be entered in a drawing for $500 toward laser correction or lens implant surgery.

Dr. Vance Thompson has been around----he can help you really-truly Discover Clearer vision. We will continue to follow Dr. Thompson and help you understand what is important and indeed what should you do about it.

Brent Baloun---Plains Commerce Bank joined us to talk about PLANNING—Good PLANNING for those in business, in agriculture, and seniors, and newly marrieds. They study each individually and help you do the best planning possible.

Sarah Heinrich---KFGO—has the Growing Harvest Network—she just looks at Dakota Style—but north of our South Dakota Border.

Matt Swenson shared the morning commodities—the big Board and Wall Street and how you can get the numbers first thing in the morning or late in the afternoon. He and his team are good at what they do---and they want their customers well-informed.

Erick Grocott---joined us last week as we promoted the special Montrose Knights of Columbus event for Lainey Raap. Very young lady with serious health concerns. Quite by accident—my wife Carolyn and I ran into the family a week ago after Sunday mass at St. George’s in Hartford. The Knights of Columbus were having a breakfast---and we met 4 or 5 members of the family—telling us about the Benefit Auction held by the Montrose Knights of Columbus and Montrose Community. Donations were being accepted---and Knights of Columbus from 80 miles away were helping –Lainey---and as it turned out others that weren’t Knight were helping as well. It all came at a time that Christians are Observing Lent---we were pleased to have Erick –a pharmacist talk to us before the event last Saturday and as a follow-up today. It made us feel like we had helped—as did so many others from quite a geographic territory. We know that Reliabank and others are still taking donations----I was proud of those from Montrose---the Knights of Columbus Chapters around the area----including my good friend Greg Boggs—who talked me into becoming a Knight years ago.

The Rock Report today featured Gary Lamb Operations Manager/Sales of Norofert Ag Biologicals, a Romanian owned fertilizer company in Romania. They have marketed their products on 1.5 million acres per year for the last 5 years. They have 4 employees and approximately 25 dealers and distributors along with a few agronomists.

John Ball---Mr. Tree gave us an update on the trees now that we are in the spring of 2025. He shared the critters that are leaving their marks—SQUIRRELS-BIRDS-and who knows what else.  One thing for sure neither John Ball or your modest radio show host—are known for working with the trees---and sharing important information---- to a wide-spread inquiring audience. John is the brains of this dual—my job is just to spread Mr. Ball’s Basic Brain-cells around to help all those that listen.

Justin Glisin---Iowa State Climatologist helped us with what to expect this week in both Iowa-South Dakota and other friendly neighboring states. He is seeing some warming weather—admits that Iowa is wetter than South Dakota—but it is getting to be time to plant and till. Warmer weather is added-and both Justin and I—thought hundreds of miles apart—are hoping for spring like weather to hit golf balls before we hit Easter Sunday.
