Israeli Settler provocations, More Anti-Semantism, anti-Israel SBS

View descriptionShare

Jewish violence in the West Bank is increasingly raising questions not only about Palestinian safety, but about Israel’s own security, the authority of the IDF and the risk of wider escalation. Where does extremist violence end and a broader security threat begin, and can Israel contain it?

Maj. Gen. (res.) Gadi Shamni, former commander of the IDF Central Command and member of Commanders for Israel's Security, spoke to Media Central about the disconcerting situation, the security challenges it presents, and the potential for further escalation. Shamni has firsthand experience confronting the issue and has warned in the past about its implications for Israeli security. (0:31-19:23)

Professor Ghil'ad Zuckermann, D.Phil. (Oxford), Ph.D. (Cambridge), is listed among Australia's top 30 Living Legends of Research (2024) by The Australian newspaper and last week I played the first part of a very extensive interview I have recorded with him.

Zuckermann is a sought-after keynote speaker, forensic linguistic consultant, and accomplished expert witness in trademarks, brand names and (corpus) lexicography.

This week you will hear some more of my conversation with Ghil'ad that is replete with his perspicacious insights. (19:28-46:30)

But who's listening? (46:35-55:59)
