A report submitted to the UN Human Rights Council claims Israel has deliberately targeted Palestinian children in Gaza, declaring that "the essence of childhood has been destroyed."Many media outlets have repeated the allegations as fact; few have actually looked further into the details.

This week 'The Israel Connexion' was probing into a very prominent anti-Israel report in a way that hasn't been done by other media that have accepted it on face value because it has the imprimatur of the United Nations. Moreover, the amount of copious detail in the report has meant that the onus of doing a proper analysis of its content has been very daunting and so the response to it has largely been superficial.

I was moderating a rare discussion bringin together two opposing sides to consider the allegations against Israel by the Independent International Commission on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel (COI).

𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐨𝐭𝐢, a COI commissioner who is an Australian expert on international human rights law, a lawyer and advocate, a former Human Rights Commissioner, and a former commissioner of the Australian Law Reform Commission debated with 𝐃𝐫 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐋. 𝐂𝐨𝐱, a Cornell Law School lecturer, visiting scholar at the University of Ottawa, and retired U.S. Army officer with 22 years' service — including seven as a military lawyer and deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan.Hear two different perspectives going head-to-head on one of the most contested reports about the conflict.
