The vehicle was stopped near an intersection, just feet from a stop sign, and the engine was still running. Investigators believe the shooting happened during the early morning hours, but key questions about what led up to that moment remain unanswered. Authorities said early in the investigation that they believed they had a strong suspect, but no one has ever been publicly identified and no arrests have been announced. Nearly eight years later, the case remains unsolved.
