Barbara was seven months pregnant, and just a week earlier, she had told her sister she was going back to school and trying to build a better life for her children. What happened in the days that followed remains largely a mystery. How Barbara ended up at the school, who she was with in the hours before she was found, and who killed her remain unanswered. Thirty-five years later, no one has been charged.

Searches followed, tips came in, and investigators looked for answers across multiple communities. More than two years later, Sharbrina and Khance have never been found.

Her cause and manner of death have not been announced, and no one has been charged in connection with her death.
