The trip was supposed to last only a few days before she returned home to continue her studies at Texas Woman’s University. But on the evening of December 4, following an argument inside a home on Baldwin Street, Jasmine reportedly walked out and was never seen again. She left behind her phone, identification, and other personal belongings despite the cold Detroit weather that night. More than a decade later, Jasmine Moody remains missing, and her family continues searching for answers.

Three women were shot in the chaos, including 21-year-old Sheeyta Elaine Herrin, who did not survive. Minutes later, a second shooting was reported across town, leaving two additional people injured. Investigators said some of the individuals involved in the second shooting had been at the American Legion earlier that night, but exactly how the incidents are connected remains unclear. More than five years later, Sheeyta Herrin’s homicide remains unsolved, and the question of who was responsible continues to linger.

Investigators later said the circumstances surrounding her disappearance were suspicious. Despite early searches and years of follow-up on leads, Tyarra has never been located. More than a decade later, the question of what happened during that short walk remains unanswered, and her family continues to search for answers.
