The anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech is celebrated every year on August 28, marking the historic day in 1963 when he addressed more than 250,000 people during the March on Washington from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. This massive peaceful turnout helped pave the way for the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Codex 5.2
