The Gospel of Mark (Chapter 4) is a teaching by Jesus about the importance of "paying attention to what you hear" and that "with the measure you use, it will be measured to you—and even more". This means that the quality and attention you give to understanding spiritual things will determine how much more is revealed to you, and conversely, a lack of attention will result in receiving less. The principle is that what one brings to the spiritual life determines what one receives in return.
