Jennah Wootten: Netball NZ chief executive on the company's deal with Anna Mowbray and Ali Williams to save domestic competition

View descriptionShare

Netball New Zealand CEO Jennah Wootton believes private investment in New Zealand's premier domestic competition will allow for grander thinking than ever before.

The national body have confirmed they're set to hand investors Anna Mowbray and Ali Williams the licence for a new league from 2027 and beyond.

While team ownership, player contracts, scheduling and broadcasting are yet to be finalised, the initial agreement has Wootton eager for next steps.

"We're really excited about what today means - in signalling that privatization is the path we're going down."
