Parliamentarians honoured Kīngi Tūheitia with speeches this afternoon - before the House adjourned early.

The leader of the Kiingitanga died almost a fortnight ago, following heart surgery.

He's succeeded by his daughter - 27-year-old Kuini Ngā Wai hono i te pō.
