Thriller Thursday 10-21-21 (2)

"Help me out people!
So my neighbor is apparently scared of dogs, so the cops have told us…
We have lived next to them for 3 years. They haven’t ever spoken to us and we are friends with all of our other neighbors. Yesterday was the 3rd time they have called the cops on my husband and I because our dog got out of our house without a leash. Our dog is a 20 pound chihuahua. When she has called the cops it is because he runs near their property and barks at her and then he runs back inside our house.
The first time she called we got a written warning, the second time I got a ticket for animal ordinance and yesterday my husband got a ticket or animal ordinance (leash law). Keep in mind, I am 31 and this was my first ticket of any kind ever. I am a rule follower! The ticket is $250 and 10 hours of community service.
I’m caught in a hard place because she is “pulling strings” with her connections. She is the fire marshal.
Last year at our HOA meeting this same neighbor brought up trying to take a lean out on someone’s property because she didn’t like the aggressive dog breed she had. After that I stood up at the meeting and politely said, why can’t we go and have an adult conversation if we have concerns with our neighbors and try to resolve it before involving law enforcement. Everyone agreed that was appropriate.
So what do I do? My dog has gotten out 3 times in 3 years and she pulls her ring camera footage and sends it to the police. My dog isn’t hurting her and sometimes dogs slip out of the house. I feel like she should give us some grace but clearly she won’t. What do I do?"

"Help! My best friend of 15 years just dumped me after my daughter didn't invite her daughter to her birthday party 🙃
Our 2 daughters (12 years old) have always been friends. The past year and a half they have drifted apart and have different friend groups. When my daughter decided to do an escape room for her birthday, she could only invite 6 friends. Obviously she chose her closest friends as most kids would.
Fast forward 2 months later: A mom at the soccer field was talking to another about a funny comment made at my daughters party. My Best friend overheard, got all bent out of shape, went to her car crying, and refused to talk to me about it except through pretty mean text messages. So she doesn't even know the actual details but will not listen.
Now here's what got me. She said I should have made my daughter invite hers. I don't think that's right, to make your kids invite someone just because your friends with the mom. What do you think? Should I have made my 12 year old invite her daughter? Or is she the crazy one?"

"I'm 62 years old and seriously contemplating going out with a 20 year old. My young man contacted me on a dating app. He's been relentless. It took almost a month for us to even exchange numbers. I act and look much younger than my age while he's an old soul. Part of me is adventurous and wants to go out with him. The other part thinks he might have mommy issues and wonders, “What the heck am I even thinking?” Some of my friends say I should go for it. My other friends laugh and make fun of me. Should I go out with him or not? Should I care what other people think? Is it creepy?"
