Our 2 daughters (12 years old) have always been friends. The past year and a half they have drifted apart and have different friend groups. When my daughter decided to do an escape room for her birthday, she could only invite 6 friends. Obviously she chose her closest friends as most kids would.
Fast forward 2 months later: A mom at the soccer field was talking to another about a funny comment made at my daughters party. My Best friend overheard, got all bent out of shape, went to her car crying, and refused to talk to me about it except through pretty mean text messages. So she doesn't even know the actual details but will not listen.
Now here's what got me. She said I should have made my daughter invite hers. I don't think that's right, to make your kids invite someone just because your friends with the mom. What do you think? Should I have made my 12 year old invite her daughter? Or is she the crazy one?"
