"My sister in law has been hosting Thanksgiving at her house around lunch time for several years. We all make a couple dishes and show up. We prefer the early afternoon lunch time on Thanksgiving because my family goes to the deer camp 2 hours away after we eat.

We get a text from the sister in law that says, "I would like to have Thanksgiving this year at our house, but I want to take a vote. Would anyone be opposed to an afternoon meal, like 4/5? I know we usually do lunch but, lets call him Charlie, sleeps from 12-3 so he would miss it all. (fyi he turns 2 next month). But, I also know you go to deer camp."

My husband and I were both annoyed. Are you serious? A Nap? Not that she has to go to her in-laws for Thanksgiving, it's naptime. I would have rather her just said, this year we need to have it later in the day and never mention the nap. Why are we letting a toddler's nap time dictate our Thanksgiving plans? I have 2 older children of my own and I know how crucial a nap can be, but I would have never even thought to revolve my Thanksgiving plans, a HOLIDAY to remind you, or ask anyone else to revolve their plans around my toddler's nap time. You nap where you nap! Back in the day you bust a blanket out and make a pallet. Will this kid look back when he's a grown man and say, "Mom, remember when I was 2 and I missed Thanksgiving?" It sounds so ridiculous to me. Thanksgiving I think of family, togetherness, chaos, and lots and lots of naps. Let him nap in the middle of it or DON'T!

My suspicions led me to check his phone. I found flirty messages between him and the choir director. At this point, there is no physical cheating, it’s just nauseating cutesy messages. Here’s the kicker. She’s not just some random school employee, she’s the assistant principal’s wife. So now, every week I’m sitting at practice watching her lead the choir with my husband sneaking glances at her. I’m torn. On one hand, I want to expose them. The school deserves to know. On the other hand, if this scandal goes public, it could destroy the choir and the kids, break apart families, and make me look like the bad guy. Help me navigate this mess before I lose my mind. I told my sister and she said the kids come first. Do they or do I?"

She's hard-headed and won't change her mind. I also think she's being selfish and doing this more for herself than the kids because they are too young to understand. Is this bad parenting?"

"My birthday is today and I asked my husband to spend time together on the porch. So I paused his anime show, now he's mad at me for interrupting his anime when he is taking his dad and mom, our nephew, and our kids to a weekend trip for my birthday. The problem is the he always puts his family over what we had planned, aka what his dad wants to do for "MY" birthday trip! So I was hoping I could have a few minutes with him but now I feel like my birthday doesn't matter and never will as long as it's convenient to his family"

"Thanksgiving is coming up and it seems like we won’t be celebrating with my whole family. My oldest brother’s wife and my mother are feuding right now. My sister in law asked my mother not to do 1 thing with her two kids and my mother did just the opposite. My sister in law said mom could only see her kids if she came to their house to be monitored since she can’t follow the rules set forth. My mom took that as she’s not allowed to see her grandchildren anymore. My mom went and dropped off all of the kids toys, clothes etc from her house off on the porch when they weren’t home and the kids got off the bus to see this. Mom went to the school a few weeks later and spoke with the kids and had lunch with them without informing my brother or sister in law about this visit. My sister in law had her removed from the list of people who could visit the kids. With Thanksgiving coming up, my mom wasn’t going to come as my brother and sister in law were hosting. My youngest brother told my mom she needed to squash the animosity for the day and come be with her kids and grandkids. Mom agreed. Sister in law decided she doesn’t want mom there now and made that known. Mom isn’t coming and now little brother isn’t either. I have to have Thanksgiving lunch with my oldest brother and then do Thanksgiving dinner with my youngest brother and mom. No one is asking me to pick sides, but it feels like no matter what choices I make as far as who I see or spend time with, it is going to upset the other. I’m not sure what to do at this point. Do help them work through this or stay out of it all together? I’m hosting Christmas this year and the whole family is invited. I feel like if this isn’t settled, Christmas may be a complete disaster. HELP!"

"My boyfriend and I have been going together for almost two years. He is in love with me and may soon propose. I love him, but have come to the realization that I am not in love with him. My family is definitely in love with him and is hoping for a proposal. It would mean a lot if I married him. I'm not sure what to do. Is my family's love for my boyfriend the reason I should stay with him? I certainly could do a lot worse. I have no idea what to do. Please help me. I don't want to let my family down, but I also have to think about myself"

"I took my family to see the new movie ‘’The Best Christmas Pageant Ever’’. The experience turned out to be a nightmare because someone brought a toddler that cried throughout the entire movie. At the end of the film, I requested to speak with the theater manager. I asked her for a refund. She refused to give me one because I watched the whole film. She said if I had come out early in the movie and asked for a refund she would have given me one. I think the theater is wrong and has a responsibility to make sure each moviegoer has an enjoyable experience. I believe I should be given a refund because I did not have an enjoyable experience due to the crying toddler. The manager said me asking for a refund is the same thing as me going to a restaurant, eating a sandwich, and then asking for a refund. I'm asking for money back after the sandwich has been eaten and the movie is over. Can you ask your listeners what they think about this? Should the theater have given me my money back? It's not my fault they allowed a crying toddler into the theater"

Am I the only one who sees how insane this is? Her father says if we allow her to do it then we can help choose the surgeon and guide her through the process. He says if we don't, she may do it behind our backs and disfigure herself by going to the wrong doctor. What would you do if you were me?"

He forced me to go outside the relationship to seek things I need as a woman so it's his fault not mine.  Am I at fault or is he?"

He’s made it very clear that he’s attracted to me, and I think the feeling COULD be mutual. However, he let me know before things got serious, that he has an odd living situation. He has two kids, and one has special needs. Therefore he and his ex-wife decided that it would be best and easiest for them to live together, but remain single. So, they live together, they raise their kids together, they eat dinner together every night, but he says they’re not together and he would change it all for me. I don’t even know if I could begin to think about him romantically until I know that he’s not living with another woman. But, if he does change his living situation for me, and I end up not feeling about him same way he feels about me, that will greatly affect his home life for no reason. The Power of Christ Compels You!

"I have a 12 year old daughter named Emily. Emily is a tough little girl, she doesn’t let things bother her, she doesn’t get mad easily, she doesn’t get scared easily, she basically just doesn’t show her feelings.

Although she may not seem like a very sensitive kid she seems to always pick up on things most of us choose to overlook, she just doesn’t let it bother her, well most of the time. We have had some abnormal things happen in my home in the past, things moved out of their place, people walking down the hall, dogs growling at things that we could not see. I never mentioned these things to my children of course out of fear of scaring them. The other girls never seemed to notice anything but Emily did, she picked up on everything I did. She would mention things but I always tried to make light of them.

One night a couple months ago I put my kids to bed and finished up things around the house before going to bed myself. I had the hardest time falling asleep that night and once I fell asleep the nightmares that I had still haunt me to this day. I remember waking up to a loud banging noise twice that night but I literally could not get up, it was like I was still dreaming. But that was nothing compared to what Emily experienced that night. 

When my alarm went off the next morning it felt like I hadn’t slept at all. I got up and stumbled into the girl’s room and when I opened the door Emily slowly sat up, looked at me and immediately fell to pieces. She ran to me and clung to me like she never had before. For almost an hour she wouldn’t speak, she just held on to me and cried. After calming her down I sat down with Emily and listened to her describe something straight out of a horror movie.

She had fallen asleep with her tv on and she woke up around 3 am and started feeling around for the remote to turn it off.  As she patted around her bed the tv went off. Thinking she had hit the remote she thought nothing else of it and rolled over and closed her eyes. Within a couple of minutes she heard a noise in the closet like someone was moving around, she called out “Mom? Is that you” and the noise stopped.  She laid there for a second and the noise started again this time louder. She said she was too scared to move. The closet door began to open and she heard footsteps coming toward her bed, she turned toward the wall and began to pray. Again the noise stopped, she decided to look and see if anything was there. As she looked toward the closet she saw the back of three tall black figures standing in her room, she said they were so tall they were almost slouched over just to fit into the room, their faces looked like melted skin and their eyes were a fiery red, their arms were long and finger nails even longer. She said they smelled like something dead. As she was looking at them one turned quickly and came toward her at very fast pace but stopped before it reached her bed. She was frozen and couldn’t move. This thing stood over her and squealed a demonic scream at her and began speaking in a language she had never heard. The other two joined in as if they were chanting something and then started moving toward her. She said no matter how hard she tried she couldn’t turn away this time, she couldn’t move, she couldn’t speak, the only thing she could do was close her eyes and begin praying in her head.

This didn’t stop them, the chanting actually got louder. They began to circle her bed, dragging their nails across the sheets on the bed and clawing the walls as they passed. They lifted the end of her bed up and down and shook it as if to get her to fall out but she didn’t move, still frozen there with no other option but to continue to pray. She said all of a sudden the noise stopped but then she felt something press down on the bed, and then on her pillow next to her, as she opened her eyes she was eye to eye with this evil creature, its hot breath on her face, moving her hair with each breath it took. Every once in a while it would growl “Emily” in between breaths. She said Mom I laid with that thing in my bed for hours face to face and I couldn’t move. They left when you opened the door.

I held my daughter a good part of the day vowing to never let her be alone again. I can’t imagine how that child felt laying there with this evil entity. The following weekend as I was packing up her room to move, it was the first time anyone had been in there since the night this happened, I was taking down a picture on her wall and below it was claw marks, just as she described. I then pulled the blankets off the bed only to find the sheets and part of the mattress had been shredded the only piece intact was exactly where she had laid.

I may not have been able to stop those things myself but I thank God I taught my child how to pray or God only knows what they would’ve done to her that night.  The power of God is amazing; they circled all around her but never touched a hair on her head."

They lifted the end of her bed up and down and shook it as if to get her to fall out but she didn’t move, still frozen there with no other option but to continue to pray. She said all of a sudden the noise stopped but then she felt something press down on the bed, and then on her pillow next to her, as she opened her eyes she was eye to eye with this evil creature, its hot breath on her face, moving her hair with each breath it took. Every once in a while it would growl “Emily” in between breaths. She said Mom I laid with that thing in my bed for hours face to face and I couldn’t move. They left when you opened the door.
I held my daughter a good part of the day vowing to never let her be alone again. I can’t imagine how that child felt laying there with this evil entity. The following weekend as I was packing up her room to move, it was the first time anyone had been in there since the night this happened, I was taking down a picture on her wall and below it was claw marks, just as she described. I then pulled the blankets off the bed only to find the sheets and part of the mattress had been shredded the only piece intact was exactly where she had laid.
I may not have been able to stop those things myself but I thank God I taught my child how to pray or God only knows what they would’ve done to her that night.  The power of God is amazing; they circled all around her but never touched a hair on her head."
