When something like this happens in the church body, it can lead to burnout. It’s easy in a church body to rely on the same volunteers who you know will show up on time every week and get the job done. But if we aren’t encouraging the rest of the congregation to pitch in, we’ll be in danger of losing the members we’ve relied on.
