In this episode of Healthy Her, host Amelia Phillips sits down with exercise physiologist and strength expert Dr Tony Boutagy to unpack the formula for getting stronger and building muscle after 40. They explore how often you really need to strength train, the ideal number of sets and reps, whether full-body workouts beat split routines, and why doing the same program for several weeks could actually improve your results. Tony also explains what’s really happening when we build muscle, whether soreness matters, and tackles a common midlife frustration: how to gain muscle without gaining unwanted body fat along the way. If you want to get more out of every strength session, this episode will help you train smarter, not simply train more. This episode is perfect for beginner lifters to advanced.
