Methadone has been in the news following the death of an 11-year-old child and hospitalisation of two younger siblings due to accidental intake of methadone in the home. Misinformation about methadone and its use in the treatment of chronic pain and substance use disorders can lead to stigmatisation of vulnerable groups of people.
