Genesis: 9-11

The Grammy Award winning song, " We Are the World", was recorded twice by some of our most accomplished musical artist. It was rooted in a desire to help save people in Africa and Haiti from the destruction they were encountering. God has always had a plan to save mankind. In this weeks study Pastor Mike shares how from the bloodline of Noah's three sons: Japeth, Shem, and Ham, God repopulated the earth and began a plan to save us all. Just like Noah was saved from judgement by the Ark, mankind today must be saved from judgement through the cross of Christ.

Welcome to the Harvest Men Podcast. We believe like never before that Christian men need other Christian men to grow and stand strong in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Are you standing strong?

There are no successful "Lone Ranger" Christians, and if you want to grow in your knowledge of God’s Word and grow in your own faith, then join us weekly with other men who love God, love God’s Word, and want to make a strong stand for Jesus in their own lives. Each week, we will share thoughts to reinforce our Bible Study and discussion time as we collaborate with Pastor Greg Laurie’s weekly teaching through the Bible.

My Three Sons and God's Plan to Save the Humanity

We know it takes a lot for men to read a book titled “Ruth”, unless they think it is a biography of Home Run Hall of Famer Babe Ruth.

The Old Testament book of Ruth is not only a story about a woman.

It's a story about a legacy.

It’s the story of an incredible young woman who puts her hope in God.

It's a story about a knight in shining armor.

It's the story of a family, with a crowning heritage! In this story is the story of Jesus Christ!

There are some people, whose stories are “inescapably incredible”.

Rags-to-riches story, or the Don Quijote, story of “dreaming the impossible dream…fighting the unfightable foe, running where the brave dare not go…..

The story of Ruth is one of these stories!

This story is like a modern-day immigrant family triumph. Someone whose family has come from Viet Nam, Iran ,or Armenia, with nothing, and had their dreams come true.

Ultimately it is part of the greatest story ever told!!

This is the front story in the book of Ruth.

I want us to look at the first 5 verses of the book of Ruth. And I want tell you upfront, this story has a glorious ending.

The end, is better, than the beginning!

For us as Christians, that is what we all should want, desire, and expect!

It is the Christian life that is the greatest life.

It is the Christian life… that offers the greatest joys, and the greatest hopes, and the greatest future!

Jeremiah 29:11-12

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.

Our lives will be, and should be, an ascent to greater things and greater glory.

When Life Takes an Unexpected Turn — Mike Jonker

In this episode, Pastor KC McCauley kicks off our 7-week study with an introduction on two themes that run through the whole book: God’s providence and kindness. It’s set in the same dark days as Judges, but this time we see God working through one faithful family to bring them from famine to fullness. That family line leads to King David, and ultimately to Jesus, our true kinsman Redeemer. We’ll also see great examples of biblical manhood and womanhood in Boaz and Ruth. Let’s lean into this study, because discipleship happens together!

Book of Ruth Introduction — KC McCauley

These final chapters remind us that the Bible does not hide the failures of God’s people; but rather tells the truth about what happens when people reject God’s authority and do what is right in their own eyes. We will see sin spreading, spiritual compromise growing and moral chaos as a result. Though Israel lacked good leadership, even worse, they rejected God as their King. Judges points us to our need for the righteous and perfect King, Jesus, and calls us to stay rooted, grounded, and surrendered to Him and His Word.
