Jonathan Von Tobel and Tim Murray discuss the opening lines of the Summer Olympics Basketball with Team USA opening up as a -400 favorite. They also dive into betting on the NBA Draft which takes next Wednesday.

By the way, is a week from tomorrow. The first round a week from tomorrow. Jvt's already got a couple of bets in the hopper, but I do want to mention this. There are lines out for Team USA in the Olympics. Twelve and a half point favorite against Serbia, that's who they open up the Olympics against, and then a thirty three and a half point favorite against South Sudan on July thirty first, and the Americans are minus four hundred to win gold at the Olympics. Canada nine to one, Serbia ten to one.

It was a little hoigh.

France tend to one too well. This country, it.

Seems a little high. But having said that, we do have the status of some pretty big stars for their respective countries unknown at this point Nicola Yo Kitchen, Luka Dancic amongst the biggest names that are out there. So we'll see what happens, but it seems little high. It's not that easy to get all the best players together and just say go win, because you know, we saw that for the Americans that wasn't the biggest stars. It was actually a young team in the Feeble World Cup and they ended up finishing fourth if I remember correctly.

Well in twenty twenty one, when they ultimately did win the Gold, you had an opportunity to come in and get them at a pretty decent price to win gold. Because they lost their first game, they looked out of sorts. A minus four dollars Team America can't wait right now they play Canada here in Las Vegas July tenth and a tune up. Let's get to the NBA mock draft here. That came out courtesy of Jonathan Gavoni today. So what was interesting is that he had a mock the other day which was not information based, and he had Donovan Klingon going one.

Right then now for audience, it was a it was a it was him and I believe I can't remember. I think it was Jeremy Woo.

Who was Jeremy Wu?

Yeah, who had the other Arthur. Essentially, what they did was they went to the draft and Gavoni drafted for biggest need and I think it was Wu who drafted for like like biggest steal or best value I think is the way they phrased it at that point of the draft for that selection. And so Donovan Klingen in that mock was the first overall selection by Gavoni because he fills one of the biggest needs for Atlanta as you are seeing here. His most recent real mock draft has Zachary Chet from France as the first overall pick for the Atlanta Hawks. So again some difference there, but it does, I think speak to the fact that, look, Klingon fills the need for the Atlanta Hawks. Klingon has been named by many people around Atlanta, at least in terms of a player that interests them, and it does make sense, especially if they're going to move on from Clint Capella, They're going to have a hole there. Quinn Snyder has played with guys like him that eato space and can defend and protect the rim the way that Rudy Gobert did, so it at least makes sense, and there's a lot of smoke there at this point.

So first overall pick market right now, Alexander Saar out of France. He was I don't know what the peak was JBT, but he was north of two dollars to be the first pick right now. He has minus one thirty at DraftKings. Zachariah Rishachet. Zachary is just Zachary. It's just Zachary. What are we doing?

Zacharyache?

He's plus one fifty five. He was number one in the most recent mock from Jonathan Gavoni, Donom Klingon sitting at six to one. Where do we stop? Is it just those three that are in discussion? Could you see a long shot reach Shepherd from Kentucky Stefan Castle of Yukon. Is it just the top three saw Resache and Klingon.

Absolutely, I think that that's it. Those are the top three. Those are the three that are in contention. I think the market has accurately reflected that you can even just go by position, right like, we know that this is not a class in which there is a head and shoulders best prospect. Having said that, the trio of saw Resa, Chet and Klingon seemed to be the best three guys, so I think we can kind of put a solid line there and also just look at the team right right now, Atlanta. It's been reported already that that your GM has come out and said we're going to keep the pick, that we're going to make this selection, so we know the Hawks are going to take it. I don't think a team with Jeante Murray and Trey Young are going to spend the top overall pick on Reach Shepherd. Yeah, you know, like you have, Shepherd could work for them, they need another shoot or whatnot. But in terms of team being already pretty guard heavy, it doesn't really make a ton of sense that Shepherd would be the guy. So you're looking at guys who are going to play the forward to center spot and who are going to provide some sort of defense, and that is a common thread amongst our, Risa Sche and Klingon is for some at some point right they are all plus defenders depending on what you look at for their positions.

So when you look at this most recent mock from Gavoni and I just pulled up another Kristin peak over at Yahoo also has Risha Che going number one, you have a bet ind pocket on Donovan kling in A both twelve to one and eleven to one to be the number one overall pick Risa Cha. You have added something to your betting portfolio regarding him, and what is that going on?

Let's go We're going big Zachary Risa Che fourth overall selection fifteen to one. So I think there's a couple of reasons for this, and these are the three bets that I've made so far. Have some funds take some long shots here, good value on Donovan Klingon, so I'm sure he'll go like seventeenth. But for Risia sche For there's a couple of things. First off, I do think that I'm feeling think somewhat comfortable that Sar is not going to be the first overall pick. Like I say, someone comfortably still the odds on favorite to be the pick, but I don't think that's going to be the case. And I do believe that Klington has a very good shot and a better shot than eleven or twelve the one would say, and even Tim six to one would say that to be the first overall pick, well you go from there. You get to number two to the Washington Wizards. If you look at the teams and workouts, aren't the end all be all. Alexander Sars worked out for one team. It's Washington Wizards, and they desperately need a defensive presence one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA. I think he could definitely be that sort of guy. Their center position has been kind of a mess for a really long time. I think positionally that fits. Then you go to the Houston Rockets. Rockets are an interesting squad because again they're trying to get out. But again this is a draft that doesn't really have a ton of guys that's worthy of moving up for So if the Rockets are stuck making that third overall pick, tim, I think Reed Shepard makes more sense for a team that finished about twenty first and three point shooting. Could use the guard depth. He can play point if you want him to. You can also play off ball knockdown shots, and is a pretty good defender for a team that finished amongst the best in the NBA in terms of defense, pretty good force to turnovers. Could really fit. And then you get to number four. There is the connection. Both the Victor woman Yama and Resa Che played together in one sort of you know, French competition, whatever it was. They do know each other. It's also a positional fit. You can play a small forward, a three and D type player. They need shooting, they need wing defense. I think it makes sense that there is a universe in which he slips down to number four, and if he does get to four, by all indications, Spurs aren't let him get past that spot that is the floor there. So I think a lot makes sense that if the bore kind of falls the way that I expected to, and you see it right there a little bit. But if Clinging goes one, I think there's a reality where Resi che is still there for and the Spurs aren't letting them go. So that's why I added them at fifteen to one. I think you find me like seventeen to one. So if you want to get a little bit more bang for your.

Buck, quickly on Clinging. So he's down to six to one to go number one overall. His draft positioning is three and a half. You see right here Jonathan Gavoni has him going seven. What would be the way to attack Donovan Clinging? In your eyes is it's still to go first overall? Pick under three and a half over three and a half, how would you attack Donovan Clinging?

I mean, I still think I think you're going six for like first overall, because if let's say the Hawks somehow, I know they've said it, but the teams lie all the time. What if they do trade out and they do get cleaning at like five, you know what I'm saying. I still think there's a higher chance he goes first overall, and at six to one is supposed to like under three and a half minus one fifty
