12-18-24 Guest DJ: DeKalb Park District

Karson and Kyle from Rooted For Good were our Guest DJs today. We talked about a lot of great information including: 
RFG's End of Year fundraising campaign: we are half way to our goal of $30,000 raised by the end of the year. Folks can donate via links on our Facebook page or on our website, rootedforgood.org
A few recaps for the year: we fed over 30,000 DeKalb County neighbors with our food needs programs, taught over 3,000 elementary students in DeKalb school district 428, and reached the milestone of distributing over 2 million pounds of food since the organization was founded in 2012.
Rooted For Good will be closed for the holidays from December 25 through January 1. We will reopen on January 2.
For those in need of food, we will have a food distributions tomorrow in Genoa from 4:30-6:30 pm and University Village from 3-5 pm. Other food distributions happening before the holiday closure are Malta on 12/19 from 3:30-5 pm.

Bobbi from Robin's Nest Bookshoppe was our Guest DJ today. We talked about a special program they are doing for the holiday season. When you shop at Robin's Nest, you can pick a gingerbread person off the door that represents a child at Safe Passage or Hope Haven. Then, you'll find a book that correlates with the age of that child and you can purchase the book for that child. You'll get 15% off that book and your entire purchase as well. This wraps up on December 20th so a few more shopping days are available.
