Greg and Dan talk with Dr. Elizabeth Pryor, daughter of legendary Peoria-born comedian Richard Pryor, ahead of her appearance in the Peoria Riverfront Museum's Museum Conversations series tonight, August 11. Dr. Pryor, a professor of history at Smith College, reflects on returning to Peoria for the first time since 1978, her career in education, and her journey to understand her father not simply as a famous entertainer, but as a person. She discusses what she's learned through that process, the importance of listening and trying to better understand one another, and why conversations like this allow her to continue connecting with her father's life and legacy. She also highlights her new book, Something We Said: Richard Pryor, a Notorious Word, and Me, which will be the focus of tonight's conversation.
