Greg and Dan talk with Amy McCoy and Val Springborn about the exciting Pekin Marigold Festival coming up this weekend! They also touch on last night’s thrilling Crosstown Classic junior high game and the recent crowning of the Festival Queen - a highlight of the month! This year’s theme is “Pep Rally Team Spirit”, and fans can kick off the festivities with a tailgate party tonight from 5:00 - 6:30 PM.
The festival officially kicks off tomorrow with a parade at 10 AM, showcasing floats, marching bands, and local talent. Throughout the weekend, attendees can enjoy Art in the Park, featuring over 300 vendor booths filled with crafts, handmade goods, and local art. For thrill-seekers, there’s waterskiing in the lagoon starting at 3 PM tomorrow, while sports fans can catch wrestling matches - two on Saturday and two on Sunday. Families can also join in on the Tortoise Bingo fundraiser and a variety of games, live entertainment, and interactive activities for all ages.
Of course, no festival is complete without plenty of food, drinks, and sweet treats, making this a weekend of fun for the whole family!
