This morning Greg and Dan spoke to Kaitlin McVey from the Grand View Alzheimer’s Special Care Center, an assisted living community for adults and their families with neuro-degenerative disorders in the Peoria area.

Kaitlin informed us about the upcoming Grand View BBQ Fundraiser. The BBQ starts this Friday the 26th at 11:00 am until 1:00 pm and will include Pork Chops, Hot Dogs, and various other BBQ staples as well as, services from the Kona Ice truck. All donations will be benefiting the Walk to End Alzheimer’s this upcoming October.

Event will be held outside of the Grand View Alzheimer’s Special Care Center at 6210 N. University St, Peoria, IL 61614.

This upcoming August the 10th in conjunction with Ignite Peoria the All or Nothing 9 show will be coming to the Peoria Civic Center. This series of shows has been running since 2009 and has started to garner national attention. There will be an indoor show, as well as top 75 awards and coverage from various magazines. The show will also have music, vendors, and family activities throughout the day. They are still open and looking for entries to their show, submit your application at aonshow.com, and will remain open until the day of the event.

This morning Greg and the producer Caleb Kelch sat down with David Snook, who is directing the Peoria Players’ production of Mean Girls: The Musical.



This production is being co-directed by David Snook and Celeste Matheson, and will be this season's youth show. The show is an adaptation of the hit 2004 movie written by Tina Fey. Performances will run from August 7-10th at 7:30 pm and August 11th at 2:00 pm, tickets will cost $25 for adults and $20 for ages 20 and younger.

Dr. Barnard will be speaking at the Plant-Based Peoria Expo tomorrow to present his new book: The Power Foods Diet: The Breakthrough Plan That Traps, Tames and Burns Calories for Easy and Permanent Weight Loss. The event will begin at 11:00 am and is free, and the first 150 households that come through the door will receive special goodies. The event will have a play area for kids, local musicians, food vendors, and most importantly air-conditioning.
