Greg and Yvonne talk with A'Lelia Bundles about her latest book, Joy Goddess: A'Lelia Walker and the Harlem Renaissance, which tells the story of A'Lelia Walker, daughter of Madam C. J. Walker, and her influential role in the Harlem Renaissance. She discusses how Walker carried on her mother's legacy while creating a vibrant cultural hub that celebrated art, music, and literature, as well as the importance of joy, culture, and community throughout history. She also highlights the Joyful Resistance exhibition at the Peoria Riverfront Museum. This weekend, A'Lelia will be in Peoria for a special member tour of the exhibition, a book talk and signing, a free Museum Conversation, and guided gallery tours as part of the museum's Access for All weekend.
