Sheldon Osborn has been around politics a long, long time. He was a volunteer for George McGovern's run for President in 1972. He's the former chair of the Minnehaha County Democrats. And in something that's more fun, he's the host of the Sioux Falls chapter of Drinking Liberally.
Drinking Liberally meets on Friday afternoons in various establishments that serve adult beverages and they talk politics. It's designed to get progressives together but anyone is welcome. Particularly if you buy the first round.
But I digress. . .
Greg and Osborn talked about the Democratic National Convention. Sheldon said it started a bit shaky but it is finishing strong. He said everyone loves Michelle Obama and most--but not all--of the Bernistas have come around that maybe getting behind Hillary Clinton is a better strategy than The Donald.
He also noted that South Dakota Democrats are having problems with voter registration numbers and that will mean another tough year for the party of the donkey in the Mount Rushmore State.
