Sam, Ella and Izzy kick off Melbourne Fringe season with their top picks for October, discussing their own fringe show ideas (some of them are quite questionable…) As always, we begin with a pop culture update, before hearing the Laneway 2027 lineup live on air! Midweek confessions become midweek therapy, with Sam seeking advice from Ella and Izzy! With lots of exciting movie news, we discussed new releases and celebrity casting, along with a fun game of ‘Guess that translated movie title’, as today was also International translation day! We wrap up the show with a debate on the most productive time of day, and discover why 2pm - 10pm is the most ideal!

FULL SHOW | Fringe Season in the Cereal Box

Sam, Emma and Sophie start the week as a brand new Monday trio with a pop culture recap covering the Portarlington Greek Festival, the Rugby World Cup, the Australian cricket Test and whether rugby needs a mercy rule.

Movie Monday celebrates Monsters Inc turning 25, with breakfast ratings that all lean nostalgic. Cookie Monster’s birthday brings out strong snack opinions, and cherries cause real controversy. Recreation Day in Tassie has the group swapping the ways people relax that stress them out. Emma will not be running anytime soon.

With the Melbourne Cup tomorrow, they own up to the unnecessary advice they love to give, then get hyped about 5SOS reuniting and heading to Melbourne.

Mission Monday covers Halloween dress up habits (Sophie wins) before everyone sets each other a mission to relax over the next week. The heaps decent track of the week closes the show.

Presenters: Sam Kelly, Emma Giles and Sophie Sewell

Executive Producers: Ella Le Fournour and Sam Kelly

FULL SHOW | The Cookie Monster, Cherries and advice nobody asked for

Sam and Ella kick off with a pop culture update covering Jay Z confirmed for the Super Bowl, paper declaration cards being phased out of airlines, AFLW players getting their names on their backs and Ryan Gosling releasing new music.

Midweek confessions hit close to home. Ella forgot Sam’s birthday and he had to sit through the happy birthday song anyway.

The ACOTAR launch sparks a debate about whether they’re late night or early morning people before Sam’s housemate moving out leads into a conversation about what you’d miss most if someone you lived with suddenly left.

Lily Allen performing in Melbourne raises the question of what story in your life deserves an hour long performance at Rod Laver Arena, Frank Ocean’s birthday opens up a conversation about hidden talents and International Animation Day has the pair debating cartoon food they’ve always wanted to try before Sam gets Ella to blind rank some animated icons.
