South African multiple Paralympic medalist Tyrone Pillay returned to action with an Impressive performance in as he claimed Gold in the Men’s Discus F42 category at the Nedbank National Championships for the Physically Disabled in Port Elizabeth yesterday. Pillay, who is taking part in his ninth national finals this year, says he is pleased with his performance upon his return from injury. After throwing 12.51m today, the reigning African and South African record holder (13.91m) Pillay, warned that this year he is looking to set the bar high and touch the 15m mark in preparation for the upcoming world championships. Reigning javelin world champion and Paralympic gold medalist Reinhardt Hamman believes that he is well on his way to finding his best form heading into the world championships in London. Albeit having struggle to clear 50m yesterday, Hamman says he feels that he is not too far from resetting the record books.
